Social Atelier collection was designed to inform people of important global issues in the world today through jarring statistics. Each design pays homage to a single important cause, including: Global warming, war, body image, genocide, gay marriage, poverty, and AIDS.
This season SA has chosen to focus on the genocide situation in Darfur and will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Solar Cooker Project. This project significantly improves the safety and survival of women in the refugee camps by alleviating the need for them to go out and seek cooking fuel, an action that puts them at severe risk for assault, rape, and even death. Furthermore, this project provides the women with income opportunities that help them to rebuild their lives.
